Continuing Professional Development

Learning is at the heart of the College.  It is the main purpose and responsibility of the College community.  Every student is entitled to benefit from an approach to teaching, learning and assessment that is of the highest standard.

Teaching, Learning and Assessment at Thurston Community College exists both as a pedagogic model and as a programme of professional development.  Through whole-staff training, departmental and cross-curricular workshops, external CPD and working in partnership with our colleagues in other schools and the local authority we aim to develop best practice and cultivate commitment to outstanding quality learning and teaching amongst all staff.
