Welcome to Thurston Sixth, Beyton Campus

Space to think. Space to develop. Space to learn.

Mr Paul Potter, Vice Principal, Head of Sixth Form

Congratulations to Year 13’s who have applied to University through UCAS and other post18 course providers.  Many students have received offers, are in the interview process or still waiting on responses.  Well done to all of you. Students this year have been extremely diligent and determined in their preparation and the early signs are very positive.  This term, students applying for apprenticeships and work have already been finalising their preparations. We wish all you the best of luck.

Applications to Thurston Sixth for current Year 11 students of Thurston Community College:

  • Senior staff and the careers advisors have met 1:1 with nearly all of the current Year 11 at Thurston.  We will be continuing these meetings in the weeks to come.  We have also encouraged students to discuss their next steps with parents, teachers and tutors
  • Taster Lessons at Beyton have been organised, 29 January - 9 February 2018, for students who have requested them to help them with their decision making
  • Mock Results Day (22 February 2018) - we will give students an application form with their results sheet. (They can complete it on the day if they like)
  • Application deadline (2 March 2018) – students must have handed in the Application Form to tutors or Student Reception (spare copies will be available)
  • Induction Week (25 – 29 June 2018) – all applicants must attend Sixth Form and begin their courses (Please do not book a holiday at this time – I have explained this on Open Evening as well as in assemblies)
  • Results Day (23 August 2018) – students must register at Beyton and confirm their application choice
