Tuesday 26 March 2019
I would like to send a big thank you to all the employers and training providers that attended the College to celebrate National Careers and National Apprenticeship Week from 4 - 8 March 2019 alongside our Careers Team.
Students in all year groups were invited to attend a number of mini careers fairs during their break time to gain information on career paths and opportunities. The older students were then invited to attend during lesson time to spend more time investigating and planning their futures. They were also able to collect lots of information as well as free giveaways!
The week was a great success and was well attended by the students and we were lucky enough to be supported by numerous colleges, universities, local businesses as well as national organisations.
The feedback from staff and visitors was all positive including:
I think it’s been a great week. I took a year 10 tutor cover this week and it was great to talk to the students about their aspirations and get them thinking about starting to pursue their dream.
Pupils in my form have commented that they really enjoyed the event’s. They enjoyed the hands on elements like resuscitation at the paramedic station.
Thank you for hosting and thank you to the students for being so polite and engaging.
Please be reminded that our Careers Team offer a student ‘drop in’ service for all year groups and are available every break and lunch time. They can offer support in all areas including resources and information, CV writing, interview techniques, one to one support as well as assisting with applications. They are also able to offer parental help and guidance in supporting your child.
