17 October 2019
I would like to praise last year’s Year 11 and Year 13 students for their excellent examination outcomes. Our Year 13 students achieved results which placed Thurston Community College in the top 10% of Sixth Forms nationally. Our Year 11 students achieved the highest average grade total (called Attainment 8) of any recent cohort of Thurston Community College students. These outcomes are the result of hard work on the part of our students, excellent teaching and guidance from our staff and steadfast support from parents, carers and wider family members. I wish our students every success and happiness in the next step of their exciting journey.
Looking forward to next half term, our Sixth Form Open Evening is on Thursday 7 November 2019, at Thurston Sixth: Beyton Campus. The evening promises to be a stimulating and informative event. Presentations at 18:00 and 18:45 will be led by Paul Potter, Vice Principal and Head of Sixth Form. During the evening, there will be an opportunity to speak to our subject teachers and to absorb the inspirational and friendly atmosphere of our Beyton Campus. Current Sixth Form students will be on hand to share their experiences of life at Thurston Sixth.
